Official Folk Albums Chart August 2026

3 new releases have entered the July chart!

Mumford & Sons continue to hold the No. 1 spot with their album Prize Fighter (Island Records) for the sixth consecutive month. 

New at No. 4 is Old Crow Folk Club Presents The Songs of Rev Hammer Reimagined, an eclectic body of work breathing new life into the vast back catalogue of maverick folk artist Rev Hammer. The album features 23 of his songs re-imagined by Justin Sullivan (New Model Army), Mark Chadwick (Levellers), Maddy Prior (Steeleye Span), Seth Lakeman and more.

Arriving at No. 6 is the debut collaboration Donn/Dubh (Independent) between multi-instrumentalist and poet Arun Sood and trailblazing folk singer Angeline Morrison. Spanning electro-folk, ambient, drone, dub and spoken word, this collection sounds at once spiritual yet non-traditional. Folk melodies are exploded into fragments, then reassembled anew, allowing the artists to explore their complex relationship with musical heritage, tradition, landscape and belonging.

Landing at No. 9 is legendary British singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock’s 25th solo album, The Confuser (Needle Mythology). These perceptive new songs traverse familiar signposts near and dear to Hitchcock’s creative heart, from the significance of love to the mysteries of the cosmos, all delivered with the vivacious gusto and driven delight of an artist still with something to prove.
