David Weir joined the team in March 2024, after previously working at The Lowry as a Marketing Executive.

David manages Sound Roots Connect, a new website and learning platform designed to support those working within the independent UK music industry by fostering knowledge sharing, skill development and advertising career opportunities.

In addition to his work at Sound Roots, David organises regular festivals in Chester. His North West-based music promotion company, Choir of Outsiders, which specialises in experimental folk events, recently received funding from PRS Foundation’s Early Career Promoters Fund to support the third edition of Northgate Folk Festival.

His writing has appeared in Clash Music, Caught by the River and KLOF Magazine.
